Fig Tree

I was surprised when a fig tree sprang up in my Brooklyn back yard. Apparently, despite its’ being a tropical tree, this isn’t unusual. New York is becoming sub tropical, climate-wise. That said, althought if flourished deep into the autumn, it did not survive the winter of ‘25.

That said, it gave rise to a small ground cover of baby figs, suggested in the lower left of this drawing.
